FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What You Need to Know

I WOULD LIKE TO GET TATTOOED, HOW DO I GET BOOKED IN?

We can take bookings in person in the studio, by email (at info@thegrasshopper.co.uk), via Instagram, Facebook or using the Tattoo Booking Form on our website.

In order to book you in for a tattoo, we would need to know:

- What tattoo you would like

- Where you would like the tattoo to go

- What size you would like the tattoo in cm

- A reference image showing the style that you would like

- If there is any writing in the tattoo, we would also need to know what font you would like

We can also book you in for an in-person consultation – this is an opportunity to have a chat with one of our artists to discuss your tattoo.

You can then book in for the tattoo there and then or go away and have some time to think about it. If you decide to book in, we’ll give you available dates and take a deposit to secure the appointment.

DO YOU REQUIRE A BOOKING FEE?

For tattoos, we would require a deposit. This secures the appointment for you, and is non-refundable.

Once you have paid a deposit to secure your appointment an artist can start working on your design.

Please click here to view our deposit policy.

Piercings are done on a walk in basis, so no deposit would be required.

I WANT A TATTOO BUT I’M ON A LIMITED BUDGET. HOW DO YOU DETERMINE PRICING?

As long as you are prepared to be flexible in terms of the design, and are open to changes that the artist suggests, which would allow us to accommodate your budget we can design a tattoo that suits your budget. The size and detail are the main factors that determine the price of your tattoo.

The minimum charge for a tattoo is £55. We offer a 4 hour session at £350 and a day session starting from £600.

Another great way to get tattoos that may be better suited to a budget would be to look at our artists available flash - there is plenty of this available! Instagram is the best place to see the current available flash for all of our artists. Flash designs are often offered at a slightly discounted rate, as they are designs that the artist would like to do.

ARE THERE ANY HEALTH CONDITIONS WHICH MEAN I CAN NOT GET TATTOOED?

There are certain conditions and circumstances which mean that you will be unable to get tattooed, these include:

Pregnancy / Breast Feeding

If you suffer/have suffered from Hepatitis or you are HIV positive, you are obliged to inform us of it as stated in our consent form. We work under high levels of infection control so it is possible to be tattooed, however it is important that we are given this information to help keep our staff safe.

If you have any serious medical conditions we recommend that you call the studio on 0208 427 9559 so we can advise you on if this will be affected by the tattooing process.

IF I AM UNDER 18 CAN I GET A TATTOO?

We tattoo in line with UK legislation, which means we do not perform tattoos on anyone under the age of 18.

Please be advised that tattooing anyone under the age of 18 in the UK is illegal, even with parental consent.

IS GETTING A TATTOO SAFE?

Hygiene is of the utmost importance to us all. We go above and beyond sanitation regulations to ensure your safety and ours throughout the tattoo procedure. We work on a strictly one-use system, meaning all equipment used during your tattoo will be disposable to prevent cross-contamination.
